Botanica Bird Newcastle Florist, Hunter Valley Florist, Port Stephens Florist, Central Coast Florist

This is us, blurred, busy flashes of colour and energy. We are always creating, connecting, networking, educating and collaborating with our customers, clients and other like minded businesses around Newcastle, The Hunter Valley, Sydney and beyond. If you catch us in one spot, you will find us talking about flowers to anyone who is interested (or not so interested #sorrynotsorry).  We are passionate and dedicated to our flowers and they NEVER leave our minds.

Botanica Bird journey started in 2016 when our creative director and founder, Rachael Cullen created the Instagram account @botanicabird to document her botanical illustrations. It quickly became evident to Rachael that buying flowers and arranging them brought more joy to herself and others than just drawing them. So she signed up to TAFE, posted her arrangements on the gram and got a reputation for creating florals that were more than pretty. The arrangements were bold, playful and created drama so much so that Rachael landed her first wedding before she finished her qualification. From there, the @botanicabird bio changed from "Floristry student" to "Wedding and Event Florist" to now one of Newcastle's leading "Studio Florist".

The Botanica Bird team has grown since then and now includes a diverse range of creatives, entrepreneurs, dreamers, mothers, doggo lovers, surfers, coffee addicts, vintage hoarders and eccentric misfits who all come together to create that unique Botanica Bird look.

In 2018 the business took a turn and focused on sustainability and the effects of the cut flower wedding industry has on the environment. For many years, use of floral foam and imported flowers was flooding the market and the floristry industry and still is. Botanica Bird decided to pull the reigns and said NO to floral foam and imported flowers in order to protect our Australian Flower Growers and reduce our environmental footprint. As a result, Botanica Bird added a layer of raw, romantic, wild and whimsical to their already well known floral designs which entered into the realm of sculpture and design.

2020, the crazy year that has affected so many, has pivoted Botanica Bird in another direction. With so many changes to the way we do things Botanica Bird thought it was time to take the blooms to the people, while maintaining its strong environmental ethos we introduced #bbirdelivery and started bringing blooms into Novacastrians homes. With the goal to bring curated bunches, with an ambulance of seasonal and locally grown blooms, right into their homes being so highly anticipated amongst the community that Botanica Bird decided to add online delivery to the business model and serve the needs of her clients.

You will see Botanica Bird flowers at your door, at your favourite restaurant, at your work Christmas party and your best friends wedding. We value sustainability and are always learning ways to reduce our carbon footprint, supporting local & Australian small businesses and our local and national community. Here at Botanica Bird, we walk, talk and breathe the floral life. Discover our floral creations through our online Newcastle flower delivery service.
